How Wags & Whiskers Works
Wags & Whiskers has developed a team of loving, Volunteer Pet Caregivers who in their home, temporarily care for the pets of pet owners hospitalized, sick or recovering from an illness and re-unites pets with their family once recovered and back on their feet.
Wags & Whiskers partners with a network of organizations who refer pet owners with medical needs. Once a referral is received a W & W volunteer team member will contact the referral within 24 hours to answer questions and provide guidance so we can learn more about the pet and pet owner to determine if the program is right for them. Once the pet owner is qualified for the services, a volunteer team member will match the pet in need to a Volunteer Pet Caregiver. The Pet CareGiver will care for the pet in their personal home until the owner is recovered and back home ready to be reunited with their furry family member.
